چکیده

Abstract Temporal-bone (TB) experiments are useful for the investigation of middle-ear and inner-ear transfer properties, analysis development active or passive middleear prostheses related devices. To acquire mechanical (ME) response, Laser-Doppler vibrometry (LDV) is utilized as a preferred method. In most setups, exact measurement point chosen on biological structure interest well direction corresponding vibration not precisely defined unknown reproducibility. Hence, an automated setup controlling coordinates TB developed tested. test reproducibility, TBs were measured with ER7C ER10C probe microphones employing small industrial robot to position ME points align it laser beam. The data acquired at same locations different time processed compared. Measured functions indicate noticeable differences some frequency ranges. Nonetheless, reproducibility positioning repeatedly proved itself relatively accurate, if no manipulations in made. conclusion, current study shows that LDV system principle capable adapt changes during intermediate preparation steps. With more data, stability can be verified, additional improvements

Metastatic Adenocarcinoma of Temporal Bone with Collet-Sicard Syndrome

Introduction: Metastatic tumors of the temporal bone are extremely rare. Collet-Sicard syndrome is an uncommon condition characterized by unilateral palsy of the lower four cranial nerves. The clinical features of temporal bone metastasis are nonspecific and mimic infections such as chronic otitis media and mastoiditis.   Case Report: This report describes a rare case of metastatic adenocarcino...

Automated Human Bone Age Assessment using Image Processing Methods - Survey

Computers have been widely used in the field of medical research over the past few decades. One of the emerging researches in medical imaging is to estimate age of the live or dead human being. Bone Age Assessment (BAA) is directly proportional to Skeletal (Bone) growth assessment. The study for Age Estimation (AE) has been categorized into two: one from live human where the AE is analysed thro...

Characterization of ultrasound propagation through ex-vivo human temporal bone.

Adjuvant therapies that lower the thrombolytic dose or increase its efficacy would represent a significant breakthrough in the treatment of patients with ischemic stroke. The objective of this study was to perform intracranial measurements of the acoustic pressure field generated by 0.12, 1.03 and 2.00-MHz ultrasound transducers to identify optimal ultrasound parameters that would maximize pene...
